## Device Compatibility

### Do iPhones support eSIM?

Most modern iPhones support eSIM by default. However, availability may vary depending on the country of purchase or carrier policy. iPhones sold in certain regions (such as China or Hong Kong) or devices locked to a carrier may have limitations.  
  
**📌 How to check if your iPhone supports eSIM**  
1. Via Settings  
Go to Settings → Cellular (or Mobile Data)  
  
If you see “Add eSIM” or “Add Cellular Plan”, your iPhone supports eSIM.  
  
2. Via EID code  
- Open the Phone app  
- Dial \*#06#  
  
If an EID is displayed along with IMEI, your device is eSIM-capable.  
  
💡 **TIP**    
EID (Embedded Identity Document) only appears on devices that support eSIM.  
  
✅ **Important Notes**  
- Make sure your iPhone is unlocked before installing any eSIM.  
- Use a stable Wi-Fi connection when downloading an eSIM to avoid activation errors.  
- Many iPhones can store multiple eSIM profiles and may allow dual active eSIMs, depending on the model.

### Do Android phones support eSIM?

Most modern Android phones support eSIM by default. However, availability may vary depending on the device model, country, or carrier policies. Some carrier-locked models or certain regional variants may hide the eSIM menu or require a software update.  
  
**📌 How to check if your Android phone supports eSIM**  
1. Via Settings  
Go to Settings → Connections → SIM Manager

If you see “Add mobile plan” or “Add eSIM”, your device supports eSIM.  
  
2. Via EID code  
- Open the Phone app  
- Dial \*#06#  
  
If an EID is displayed, your device is eSIM-capable.  
  
**💡 TIP**  
Some firmware may hide the eSIM menu. Always update your device and check again.

## Installation

### How to install and activate eSIM on an iPhone?

On an iPhone, you can easily install and activate eSIM by scanning a QR code or manually entering the activation code.  
Before starting, ensure your phone is **connected to a stable Wi-Fi network**.

📌 **Steps to install and activate eSIM on iPhone**

1. Prepare your **QR code or activation code** from eSIM Story.  
(Check your email or Order History page after purchase)
2. Go to **Settings → Mobile → Add eSIM**
3. **Scan QR code or enter details manually**
  - Use your camera to scan the QR code, or
  - Tap **“Enter Details Manually”** and input the SM-DP+ address and activation code
4. **Confirm plan addition**  
When prompted, tap **“Add Cellular Plan”**
5. **Enable data roaming**  
Settings → Cellular → eSIM Plan → Turn on **Data Roaming**
6. **Change default data line**  
Settings → Cellular → Cellular Data → Select **eSIM as your default line**
7. **Activation complete**  
Your iPhone will automatically connect to the network.  
If not, try **restarting your device**.

💡 **TIP**

- You can **install eSIM in advance and activate it later**, such as after arriving abroad.
- iPhones can **store multiple eSIM profiles**, but only **one eSIM can be active at a time**.
- After installation, be sure to **enable data roaming** and **change your data line**.
- If an error occurs, **check your Wi-Fi → restart your iPhone → try again**.

### How to install and activate eSIM on a Galaxy (Android) device?

On Galaxy and most Android phones, you can easily install and activate eSIM by scanning a QR code or entering the activation code manually.  
Please make sure your phone is **connected to a stable Wi-Fi network** before starting.

📌 **Steps to install and activate eSIM on Galaxy**

1. Prepare the **QR code or activation code** from eSIM Story.  
(You can find it in your email or My Page)
2. Go to **Settings → Connections → SIM Manager → Add mobile plan**
3. **Scan QR code or enter details manually**
  - Scan the QR code with your camera, or
  - Tap **"Enter details manually"** and input SM-DP+ address and activation code
4. **Confirm plan addition**  
When the eSIM plan appears, tap **"Add"**
5. **Enable data roaming**  
Settings → Connections → Mobile networks → Turn on **Data roaming**
6. **Change default data SIM**  
Settings → Connections → SIM Manager → Mobile data → Select **eSIM plan**
7. **Activation complete**  
Your phone will automatically connect to the network.  
If not, try **restarting your device**.

💡 **TIP**

- You can **install eSIM in advance** and activate it after arriving abroad.
- **Galaxy devices support DSDS (Dual SIM Dual Standby)**,  
so you can use a physical SIM and eSIM at the same time.
- After installation, make sure to **enable data roaming** and **change the default data SIM**.
- If something doesn’t work: **Check Wi-Fi → Restart → Try again**

### Can I install eSIM without a QR code?

Yes, you can install eSIM without a QR code by manually entering the activation code.  
Before installation, make sure your phone is connected to a **stable Wi-Fi network**.  
You can find your activation code in your purchase confirmation email or on **Order History page**.

📌 **How to install and activate eSIM without a QR code**

1. Prepare the activation code provided by eSIM Story.  
If you didn’t receive a QR code, check your email for the **SM-DP+ address and activation code**.
2. Open your phone’s settings:
  - **iPhone**: Settings → Cellular → Add Cellular Plan → Enter Details Manually
  - **Android**: Settings → Network & Internet → SIM → Enter Details Manually
3. Enter the **SM-DP+ address and activation code** in the input fields.
4. Confirm the eSIM plan that appears and tap **“Add”**.
5. Enable data roaming:  
eSIM Plan → Turn on Data Roaming
6. Change the default data SIM:  
Set eSIM as the **default data SIM** to ensure proper data connection.
7. **eSIM activation complete**:  
Your phone will automatically connect to the network once setup is complete.  
If needed, **restart your device** to refresh the connection.

💡 **TIP**

- Even without a QR code, installation is possible with just the SM-DP+ address and activation code.
- After installation, make sure to **enable data roaming** and **set the default data profile** to eSIM.
- If you encounter issues: **Check Wi-Fi → Restart device → Try again**.
